Your support means a lot...to us and to thousands of others.
The Light the Night Walk is the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk to raise awareness of
blood cancers and funds for cures. The walk is an inspirational and moving event
joining survivors, their families, and supporters on a 2-3 mile walk while
carrying lit balloons. Funds raised support the Society's mission: cure
leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of
life of patients and their families.
We are participating in the
walk taking place in Wichita on September 20th, 2008. This year the walk is
changing locations from Bradley Fair to Exploration Place. The twinkling
balloons are sure to be a beautiful sight as they reflect in the water as we
walk along the river. Once again, we are walking in memory of our Sister and
Aunt, Chris Livingston. This is our FIFTH year for Light
the Night and we carry our special gold balloon in memory of Chris. We are part
of a team called
Friends of Heroes. Friends of
Heroes (formerly Friends of Allie/Allie's Angels) is the largest national
Friends and Family Light The Night team in LLS history. The team was originally
created to honor Allie Scott. Allie was the same age as Gavi and a member of
Jenny and Gavi's birth board on Babycenter.com. Allie passed away on September
13, 2004 just days before the Wichita walk after a long battle with AML (Acute
Myeloid Leukemia). You can read more about the inspiration for Friends of Heroes
here.

Please make a donation to support
our participation in the Light the Night Walk. By doing so, you'll be helping
save lives. We hope to help Friends of Heroes and the LLS by raising money so
that children like Allie won’t have to lose their battle with cancer. We can’t
do it without the support of people like you. All donations are tax deductible. I hope you'll visit our web
site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see our progress. Thanks for
your support!
