Welcome to my Light The Night Walk homepage. The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide walk to raise awareness and funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
As many of you know, one of my biggest passions has always been music. From a very young age instrumental and vocal music have made a significant impact on my life. It is why now I am so interested in going to see new upcoming bands/groups, and supporting them. One of these groups, is Something Corporate. Their lead singer, Andrew McMahon has written lyrics that are almost impossible to releate to. His music has touched my life over and over again. He is why I am sending you this email. Andrew was diagnosed just last year with Leukemia, and since then has been tirelessly raising money to support finding new cures. As I would never want to lose him or his music, this is also a cause I support. Even for me, as a 9 year old girl, one of my closest friends died from Leukemia.
Did you know that:
- Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer: Every ten minutes, someone loses the fight.
- Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children.
- Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
- The myeloma survival rate is only 32 percent.
