Raising Money to Cure Cancer

THANK YOU all for your wonderful and generous donations! We are blown away by the amount of money raised this year! You just keep setting the bar higher and higher. Thanks for making our walk a monster success!

We participated in the walk at Green Lake on September 15, 2007 in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancer as well as to celebrate Shawn's battle and subsequent recovery from non-Hodgkins, Burketts-like lymphoma (6 1/2 years and still ticking!). We need your support to help accelerate cures and give hope to patients and their families. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over. Did you know that:

• Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every ten minutes, someone dies.
• Leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer.
• More than 20,000 Americans died from lymphoma in 2006.
• The survival rate for myeloma is just 33 percent.

Last year, our goal was $1000. Due to very generous individuals, we exceeded our goal and in fact nearly doubled it! The result was $1900 that went to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!

This year, we have set our initial goal even higher—$2000!
