Your support means a lot…to me and to thousands of others.
This is a picture from 2006. Last year we walked in a huge rain storm so it was hard to get a picture.
Thanks for visiting my Light The Night Walk homepage. Light The Night is the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of patients battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.
I have been working hard with my wife and the people at Walton Construction to collect as much as we can to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). We have had a yard sale and a trivia night that have both been a success at raising money for the LLS. But they still need more and I would like my participation in the Light the Night Walk bring in even more funds than those two events combined.
The LLS funds lifesaving cancer research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving the quality of life.
But more research is critically needed:
- Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer.
- Nearly 20,000 Americans died from lymphoma in 2007.
- The survival rate for myeloma is just 34 percent.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives. Your donation, no matter the size, will help and be greatly appreciated.
Please send the link to this page to your friends and coworkers so that they too can help.
