Your support means a lot to Ryan and many others.
Ryan May 2008 - 3 1/2 years old
~ live your life from your heart - share from your heart and your story will touch and heal people's souls ~
We'd like for you to meet Ryan. Ryan will be 4 in October. He is like most other boys his age - he enjoys being
outdoors, playing with his brothers and getting into things he shouldn't. You wouldn't know it from meeting him,
but Ryan has Leukemia.
He was diagnosed with Leukemia in the fall of 2006 just before his 2nd birthday.
He is currently 18 months into his treatments, is in remission and has 2 years of treatments left.
Ryan is our little trooper that has been through the unimaginable and back again.
The countless trips to the hospitals, chemo treatments, blood transfusions, sticks of a needle, mood swings . . .
are nothing compared to the countless hugs, smiles, and laughs that we have been blessed with.
Ryan is an inspiration to everyone that knows him.
If you have already been here and donated, I want to thank you for coming back and checking on the progress.
If you haven't done so, please check out the link that goes into more detail about Ryan's story and his first year of diagnosis - www.stallofamily.com/ryan
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of patients battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.
The Society funds lifesaving cancer research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and many other types of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants that have prolonged and enhanced the lives of patients. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue have already begun to provide drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.
We have seen first hand just what the research can accomplish. . . but more research is critically needed:
- Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every ten minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer
- More than 20,000 Americans died from lymphoma in 2006
Please consider making a donation to support the Light The Night Walk and help save lives. Be sure to check my Web site frequently to see my progress, and again, thanks for your support!
