Your support means a lot…to me and to thousands of others.

Friends and family --
Thank you for visiting my Light the Night donation web site. Light The Night is the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of patients battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.
The three beautiful women you see in the photograph above are my inspiration for participating in this year's Light the Night walk in San Francisco.
My friend Victoria Wallach became close friends with Brenda and Liza while they were all in the hospital under treatment for leukemia. Within one short year -- April 14, 2007 through April 3, 2008 -- all three had passed away. They left behind husbands, a significant other, children, parents, siblings, friends, and many people whose lives they touched without having met them in person.
These three woman were, and continue to be, teachers - graceful in their illness, as well as courageous, strong, love-filled, and inspiring.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving cancer research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and many other types of cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants, that have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving the quality of life.
But more research is critically needed:
- Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer.
- Nearly 20,000 Americans died from lymphoma in 2007.
- The survival rate for myeloma is just 34 percent.
Please donate as much as you can to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives.
Thank you for your support!
Love, love, and only love,*
Peggy
