Putting a Face on Childhood Cancer...

Hello! Finally.....some good news to report! Gavin completed his chemotherapy in December and will hopefully remain in remission. He is six now and in Kindergarten, a healthy specimen indeed! God is good! Thanks to all of you for your unwavering prayers and support. One battle down, but the war goes on. On March 3rd, we lost Ken Olson, of Team Ken, our former Friends of Heroes teammate Kevin's brother-in-law to leukemia. He was only 34, had just celebrated his 10th wedding anniversary and they were looking to start a family. This was a devastating loss to all of us who had been praying for him and following his progress on his Caring Bridge Site. Our team last year on a National basis raised $110,000 which afforded us a grant naming opportunity that allowed 100% of our dollars raised to fund research into pediatric blood cancers. Our local team raised almost $20,000 of that total. Not bad, huh? Please consider making a donation to help us eradicate this disease that leaves holes in so many families.......won't you?
  • Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every ten minutes, someone dies.
  • Leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer
  • More than 20,000 Americans died from lymphoma in 2006
  • The survival rate for myeloma is just 33 per cent

Please make a donation to support my Light The Night Walk and help save lives. Be sure to check my Web site frequently to see my progress, and again, thanks for your support!
