Fun time!
The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide walk to raise awareness and funds to cure Hodgkins Disease, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
WHEN: Friday, October 12th, 7PM
WHERE: Mizner Park Amphitheater
I am the Team Captain and would Love for you to JOIN US in our walk as a Team Member or contribute to your right!! No amount or action is too small or too large. We're walking in honor of my brave son, Danny and all the warriors who are battling blood cancer.
Cancer has a face - those we know and love so dearly, who are fighting cancer - the true heroes! We need your support to help accelerate cures and give hope to the brave warriors and their families. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, Danny being a joyful example, the battle is far from over.
Did you know that:
Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer: Every ten minutes, someone loses the fight.
The five-year relative survival rate for patients with Hodgkin lymphoma has increased from 73 percent in 1975-1977 to more than 86 percent at present.
Hodgkin lymphoma is a specialized form of lymphoma, and represents about 11.7 percent of all lymphomas diagnosed in 2006.
Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children.
