No donation too small!!

Welcome to Rachel's Light The Night Walk homepage.

The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide walk to raise awareness and funds to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We are participating in the walk in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancer.

Since Rachel's diagnosis of ALL (Aucte Lymphoblastic Leukemia) in April 2006-we have discovered a new side of this life we cherish.

Over the last 2 years, we have experienced *a lot* of new things.

We have...
watched helplessly as our 3yr old little girl stopped walking for over 2 months...at diagnosis and her initial chemo phase.

struggled to remain cheerful as we watched her hair fall out.

cried tears of joy- as we saw her take her first steps...for the SECOND time.

cried with friends and families that lost their battles

giggled like kids as we ran our hands through her NEW hair regrowth

celebrated with friends and families that triumphed over their beasts

And PARTIED for an entire month -during August 2008- when Rachel finally FINISHED her 26 month chemo protocol!!!

WOOHOO-no more CHEMO for Rachel!!

Please celebrate with us by placing your donation today!

And while we are SO THANKFUL that our protocol has drawn near it's end-we are painfully aware that there are many others that are not as fortunate.

NEW diagnosis come with each passing day-and you never know when it will fall close to home.
Your neighbor

your friend

your grandchild

your baby...

It is saddening and overwhelming..

Won't you help? No donation is too small!

As a part of the cancer community, we rely heavily on YOUR generosity to further the research for cures. Without these research groups, Rachel would not have the outstanding prognosis that she does today. Please help to heal our little one - and so many like her..

Last year, your generous donations helped Rachel raise over 500.00 as a walker for the national Friends of Heroes Team! (formerly Friends of Allie)

Cumulatively, Rachel has turned in over 1600.00 in donations since her diagnosis in 2003!!

We are asking for your help once more. Let's gear up to surpass last year's donations and really raise the bar!

Please make a donation to support our participation in the Light The Night Walk. By doing so, we’ll all be helping save lives. Please come back and check the site frequently to see our progress.

Keep up with the latest on Rachel's chemotherapy and our family's journey at our Caring Bridge OR Carepage sites.

FACTS ABOUT BLOOD CANCERS

Cancer survivors and patients are the true heroes, and we need your support to help accelerate cures and give hope to everyone.
Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over. Did you know that:

Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer.

Every ten minutes, someone loses the fight.

Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children.

Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.

The myeloma survival rate is only 32 percent.

FRIENDS OF ALLIE INFO

Friends of Allie is the largest national Friends and Family Light The Night team in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's history. The team was originally created to honor Allie Scott, an 8 month old baby from Allen, TX who passed away from acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in September 2004.

Since then, Friends of Allie has grown dramatically in both size and focus. The team not only retains a core group of over 1500 registered Friends of Allie walkers, but also welcomes several affiliate teams across the country

Friends of Allie sponsors research grants centered in pediatric blood cancer. Learn more at
