CONGRADULATIONS! We did it! We exceeded my goal amount! I couldn't have done it without all your generous donations! It has been great seeing all your names go up on my webpage. As I read them now, I think of all the great memories I have with each and everyone of you! I'm sad it's over. Most of you knew my father Steve. He was a great man. He loved telling stories of his escape from Hungary and we loved to hear them. He loved his job, working hard, doing pullups in trees, taking daily walks at Watchung Reservation, cups of tea, Hungarian red wine, the evening news and O'Reilly Factor, chopping wood and mowing our lawn. But mostly, he loved his family and was so proud of being Hanna's Pop Pop. He never complained at his sickest and loved to laugh! I can still hear his laughter, his voice, the way he smelled of sunshine and sweat. When I was a little girl, he was the strongest, most invincible man to me, with his amazingly blue eyes and wavy blonde hair. He was my hero. I'm glad it was me who gave him his last cup of tea and angry that Hanna won't have her own memories of him! But I'll give him to her, as best I can. Not only through his stories, but with laughter, togetherness and unending, unconditional love, just like he gave us. He's watching her, I just know it. And the next time you see a tree or the sun shining brightly, do me a favor...look up, and think of him. Thank you for remembering my dad!
