We walk in honor of our affiliate team heroes and all children battling blood cancer, survivors, and in memory of those who have passed away. My local team is also walking in honor/memory of 11-year-old Ryan who battles ALL, Karen R. who is battling and surviving multiple myeloma, Terry C. who fought CML, and Roger R. our cousin who had leukemia.

Did you know:

Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer?

Every nine minutes, someone loses the fight?

Leukemia is the leading cause of disease-related death among children under age 15?

Approximately 3,000 children die from a blood cancer every year?

There is so much we still need to learn. Research is the key. And research takes money.

In recognition for reaching our fundraising goals, a pediatric research grant bestowed by The Society will be denoted in honor of the the team and the children fighting blood cancers. See our grant naming press release.
