Amy's Light The Night® Walk in Honor of Baby Allie 2004

Help Carry the Light of Hope

Allison Leigh Scott, December 17, 2003 - September 13, 2004 http://www.scotthousehold.com/

Welcome to my Light The Night Walk home page. I am walking in honor of Allison Scott, a baby girl who lost her battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) just short of her 9 month birthday - and in support of Sam Eisenberg, a three year old boy who is courageously waging his battle against AML.

The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk to raise awareness and funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We need your support to help accelerate cures and hope for patients and their families like the Scotts and the Eisenbergs. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over. Did you know that:

  • Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every nine minutes, someone dies.
  • Leukemia is the leading cause of disease-related death among children under age 15.
  • Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
  • The myeloma survival rate is only 30 percent.

Your generous donation will help fund cancer research initiatives by the brightest cancer research teams in the world. The Society also provides patient aid programs, such as support groups, financial aid for families and so much more.

Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk. By doing so, we’ll both be helping to save lives.
