Help Carry the Light of Hope!
Stacy!
WELCOME TO MY HOMEPAGE FOR LIGHT THE NIGHT!
The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk to raise awareness and
funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
As some of you may know, my beautiful friend Stacy Blalock was diagnosed with Leukemia just over 12 months ago. On April 27th Stacy lost her fight with this disease at University of Chicago Hospital. She fought until her very last breath and for those of us who knew her personally it only confirms how strong she could be. Stacy is a hero in my eyes and my only hope is to bring together friends, business associates, people on the street - WHOEVER to help her and others afflicted with Leukemia. That is why I'm participating in this Walk! These people are
the real heroes and we need your support to help accelerate cures and hope for patients and their families.
Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over.
Did you know that:
- Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer.
Every nine minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia is the leading cause of disease-related death among children under age 15.
- Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
- The myeloma survival rate is only 30 percent.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk. By doing so,
we’ll both be helping save lives. Every little bit helps and remember gifts are tax deductible. I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to
see my progress. Thanks for your support!
Update:
It is with deep sadness that I am writing this email. This morning at 8 am Stacy lost her battle with leukemia. Surrounded by family, friends and staff she peacefully moved onto her next life. We all want to thank you specifically for your generosity has not only been noticed but a boost of support during these last hard months. Stacy especially would light up when I gave her our progress report! Please keep the donations coming and spread this link to friends and family.
Thank you again,
Laura
