Now in its 19th year, the Invitational has raised more than $5.5 million for the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. The funds raised at the Luau & Longboard Invitational support the mission of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center to translate promising scientific discoveries into new and better options for those fighting cancer. As one of the nation’s top cancer care and research institutes, the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center committed to promoting and sustaining excellence in basic, translational and clinical research, cancer prevention, and the highest quality of clinical care.
We are grateful to all those in the community who have come together in the “Aloha Spirit” to surf for a cure and support the fight against cancer. More than just a friendly greeting, aloha also means kindness, unity, humility and patience. So, we ask you to join us in the aloha spirit to surf for a cure because together we are stronger than one – together we can find a cure – together we can take the giant leap to eradicating cancer.
