Hello my name is Fred Hanker and I have a men’s fast pitch softball team in Long Beach ( Long Beach Black Sox). I also am the commissioner of the newly formed SCIFL.I played 4 years of college baseball at Cal State Dominguez Hills, 3 years of professional baseball with the Oakland A’s and 15 years of fast pitch softball with 3 different teams. This is our fifth full season and I am going to be the player/manager for The Long Beach Black Sox. We are looking for great things again in 2008 with the addition of USA Olympic gold medalist and world class player Todd Budke. We have also added 2007 Team USA and gold medal winners Tim and Chris Hunt. In 2007 we won 4 tournaments and finished 31-7 in winning the inaugural SCIFL championship. The majority of our 2007 roster returns in tact including team MVP Ron Rupp who was 17-3 with a 1.46 ERA.
We tallied tournament wins in Santa Fe Springs twice, Ventura, Norwalk and Palm Springs. We are in the process of looking for sponsors and or donations to help with the costs to pay for uniforms and tournament entry fees. In return for your generous financial help we will advertise for your place of business. There are several plans available. This will help both our team out and your business as far as bringing in potential customers. I have included the link to our web site. If you click on the sponsor link you will see where your advertising will go and will stay.
We have secured an official non profit status for our league (SCIFL) and we will have a tax id number for your records.
We are looking for a minimum of 375.00 per sponsor which is the cost of a tournament. Anything extra you would like to contribute helps pay for uniforms, equipment, hotels, tournaments etc. If you could help out with any amount of money less than 375.00 it would be a big help to our team. If you chose a smaller type of advertising please give me a call and we can talk. The plan will benefit your business if you were looking for write-offs for tax purposes. I will also pass the word about your business amongst the whole league in addition to advertising your business on our team web site, and depending on your plan the league web site. We are going the route of several different sponsors so one business won't have to sponsor the whole amount.
Our web site has been up 3 years and we already have 44,000 hits. Our new SCIFL (Southern California Independent Men’s Fast Pitch League) league website will also debut in 2008 ( www.scifastpitch.com ).
