Scott Peacock - In Memoriam - Running the Houston Marathon for A.C. "Uncle Buck" Buchanan
A.C. "Buck" Buchanan
My name is Scott Peacock. The gentleman pictured above is A.C. "Buck" Buchanan. He was my uncle via marriage to his niece, Marilyn. "Uncle Buck" as we called him, was diagnosed with chronic leukemia earlier this year. I am running the Chevron Houston Marathon in January 2009 to honor Buck's memory and to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Buck was the type of man that I aspire to be. He was the CEO of a hospital system in Alexandria, Louisiana, has served on the vestry of his church, and was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. Buck went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August, 5 ,2008. He was truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for him and for this effort. I am asking anyone interested to pledge $1 for each mile I will run in the race (the modern marathon is just over 26 miles). A show of support in any amount is greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Scott Peacock Romans 8:28 http://4unclebuck.blogspot.com
