| Thank you for visiting my online fundraising page for the 2008 Run for Research team. For the 4th consecutive year I have been raising funds for the American Liver Foundation and training for the Boston Marathon in honor of two very special people, Jack Morea and Laura Linehan.
This year, I’ll run in memory of Laura who passed away on April 4, 2008 after losing a very long and difficult battle with liver disease. She was only 20 years old and fought as long and as hard as she could while waiting for a liver transplant, but it just did not come in time.
While I am devastated by this loss of someone who was not only my inspiration but my dear friend, I am comforted to know that she is no longer suffering and her story has touched and educated countless others on liver disease and organ donation. I am motivated now more than ever to fight for Laura and do all I can to prevent any family or friend from experiencing the loss that we have.
Thank you supporting the 2008 Run for Research team. Together we can make a difference to Jack, Laura and the 30 million Americans affected by liver disease.
Look for me on April 21, bib number 24659 – dedicating every step to my dear friend Laura Linehan. I know she will be at my side every step of the way. |
