| I have run the Boston marathon in 2004, 2005, & 2007. Every year, after a hard season of training in heavy winter conditions one would think it would be my last. But I find myself at the finish line wanting to do it all over again. The drive I find to wake up and train and run is Dominic. Dominic is a beautiful young boy who suffers from liver disease. He has had 3 liver transplants and is just a mere 13 years old. This year will be my 2nd running in honor of Dominic and supporting the American Liver Foundation (ALF) Run for Research (RFR) team. Every time I run – whether in training or the day of the marathon, every time I need to sleep early to wake up for training, every time I’m exhausted from long mileage hours, I just think of Dominic and all those who are affected by this disease. It gets me through what I have to do and reminds me of this wonderful cause I am fighting for. Every sweat is worth it, every pain is worth it because they are worth it and everyone deserves to be healthy.
This is going to be a special year – my 5th marathon! So I ask you to join me in making this a special year for Dominic and the liver team and make a charitable donation supporting my 26.2 miles challenge. I also encourage you to watch the day of the marathon if you are a local or nearby Boston!
The American Liver Foundation is the US’s leading nonprofit organization promoting liver health and disease prevention. ALF provides research, education and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases, including hepatitis. Your sponsorship will help RFR in its mission to raise funds in the fight against liver disease. All contributions are tax-deductible. No amount is ever too little or ever too much. Thanking you in advance for your generous donations! |
