Race proceeds and donations will support the efforts of Lillie's Friends Foundation. Lillie's Friends Foundation was started in memory of Lillie Boyte, a local 3 year old, who lost her battle with a rare form of childhood cancer called neuroblastoma.
The mission of Lillie's Friends Foundation is to passionately provide families with real hope by:
--Supporting awareness and funding for innovative research that significantly increases cure rates
--Supporting families going through the "crisis of belief" that comes with their child's diagnosis.
Together we can make a difference and change the current statistics:
--Cancer is the #1 disease killer of children
--Every child is at risk
--46 children are diagnosed with cancer each school day
--There is no known cause or cure for neuroblastoma
--The survival rate for stage IV neuroblastoma is only 30%
--Every 16 hours, a child with neuroblastoma dies |
