Providing Help and Hope to Thousands of People Battling Cancer and Their Families
Welcome to my Leukemia Cup Regatta home page. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.

I'm participating in the Regatta in honor of more than 712,000 Americans who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes and we need your support to help accelerate cures and provide hope and support for patients and their families. Did you know that:

- Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every ten minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young people under age 20.
- Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
- The myeloma survival rate is only 32 percent.

Please make a donation to support my participation in the Leukemia Cup Regatta . By doing so, we’ll both be helping save lives. I hope you'll visit my Web site often to check in and see how my fundraising is going.

Thanks for your support!

A message from Julie Walsh:
As a friend of Jim and Rachel's affected by leukemia, I wanted to lend my support for this worthy cause. I was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia 6 1/2 years ago. At age 35, it was a shock to hear I had this rare, but treatable form of leukemia. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society provided me with helpful information and support. They also connected me with someone who suffered from the same leukemia that I had, which was a huge comfort. Since my diagnosis, I've been treated three separate times with chemotherapy and am currently doing great. Advances made in research is why I'm doing so well. Funding the research enables new treatments to be developed and tested. Your contribution can help fund that very important research along with helpful patient services. Please help Jim and Rachel reach their goal in fighting blood related cancers.

A message from Tater:
As a cancer survivor myself, I can’t think of a worthier cause to donate to. I WAS that child you refer to in your note. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) in the 1960’s at which point was a “terminal” disease. At that time I underwent aggressive radiation and chemo therapy (that may explain why I can bend things with my mind J). To make a long story short, through years of research and many trips to the doctors for blood test etc. and advancements in the medical treatments, I was medically cleared of ANY cancerous cells in my body in 1975, not in remission but CURED. We will be glad to sponsor you and your team in this awesome event.
