| Welcome to my Leukemia Cup Regatta home page. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. I'm participating in the 14th annual Leukemia Cup Regatta in honor of more than 823,000 Americans who are battling blood cancers and specifically for 9 year old Evan. Evan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in June. AML is a cancer that starts in the bone marrow and spreads to the bloodstream. It is more common in adults, but each year approximately 500 new cases of AML are diagnosed in children in the U.S. Evan is currently undergoing chemotherapy and this fundraising effort is just the first step in showing support for an amazing family and a young boy who is in our thoughts and prayers. Please check out Evan's website at:www.caringbridge.org/visit/iandustan to read about his experience and see updated photos and blogs.
Thank you for your support. A minute of your time will make a lifetime of difference in someone else's life
Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every ten minutes, someone dies.
Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young people under age 20.
Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
The myeloma survival rate is only 34 percent.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the Leukemia Cup Regatta. By doing so, we’ll both be helping save lives. I hope you'll visit my Web site often to check in and see how my fundraising is going.
Thanks for your support! |
