| Welcome to our Leukemia Cup Regatta home page. We are participating in the 14th Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta in honor of Sara, a colleague at the Global Institute of Sustainability recently diagnosed with lymphoma, and Louise, Brenda's mother who fought multiple myeloma in her later years.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. More than 823,000 Americans are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes and we need your support to help accelerate cures and provide hope and support for patients and their families. Did you know that:
- Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every ten minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young people under age 20.
- Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
- The myeloma survival rate is only 34 percent.
