| Welcome to my Leukemia Cup Regatta home page. This year you may know I am the Regatta Chairman. This our 10th year with LLS. Even with the large amount of time that our volunteers and myself contribute to this event. We still need our powerful monetary donations.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. I'm participating in the 14th annual Leukemia Cup Regatta in honor of more than 823,000 Americans who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes and we need your support to help accelerate cures and provide hope and support for patients and their families. Did you know that:
- Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every ten minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young people under age 20.
- Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
- The myeloma survival rate is only 34 percent.
