About Our Founder...
On March 13, 2006, I had a routine mammogram that showed a suspicious mass. My life changed forever at that moment.
I was lucky enough to have a needle biopsy done the next day that showed not only a mass but an impacted node. The results were a malignancy, and an MRI came swiftly after. The next week in a meeting with my surgeon, he looked at me and said,; Elaine, this is so new and you caught this so early all you need is a lumpectomy!I looked him right in the eye and said, “Then let’s rock and roll!"
Post surgery brought a protocol of eight treatments of chemotherapy, followed by six weeks of radiation. During this time I lost my hair and gained a new perspective on life.It's this new perspective that led me to create Let's Rock and Roll for a Cure. A group of women and I decided that we need to support other women facing breast cancer diagnoses and treatments. We are dedicated to helping others by selling clothing, jewelry, and other items—then donating 50% of the proceeds to breast cancer research.Lets Rock and Roll for a Cure donates 50% of our profits from the sale of our products for these clinical trials. Early results from these trials are exciting, so we are thrilled that we are helping women right at the bedside!
