In 2006, more than a million acres of your public land was protected as wilderness. But our nation's newest wilderness areas in California, New Mexico, New Hampshire, Nevada, Puerto Rico, Utah, and Vermont didn't come about by accident.
The Campaign for America's Wilderness and our partners work tirelessly with people around the country to preserve this wondrous gift of wilderness for all Americans, for all time. We've had great successes but we can't stop now; our unprotected wild lands remain at risk from those who would drill, mine, log, and pave this precious bounty.
The new year promises new opportunities to protect a lasting legacy of America’s common ground as wilderness proposals for Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Virginia, and many other places move forward.
