| The Las Cruces Starz Fastpitch softball team is a non-profit organization designed to introduce and develop our young female athletes in the sport of fast pitch tournament softball. One of the main goals of our organization is to provide our players with the opportunity to improve their athletic abilities and talents to achieve their individual goals. Our female athletes learn basic fundamentals of softball, good sportsmanship, and most importantly, how to win and lose with dignity and respect. We have a desire and drive to ensure that our players are given the same opportunities that their male counterparts have. We want to prepare our players for high school ball, as well as college ball, if they choose. We are very excited about our potential. Our goal for our second year in 12U is to attend the ASA Western National Tournament to represent Las Cruces and the state of New Mexico. In order for our team to reach this goal, we have chosen to participate in various tournaments throughout the southwest – Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Our team is affiliated with the ASA, USSSA and the Triple Crown Series. As you can derive, this is a fairly costly endeavor to keep the team playing at this competitive level. This is where we need your help. It is our intent to generate enough sponsorship so that the parents of these girls participating will not be burdened by the entire expense of a traveling team. Of course we do conduct fundraisers throughout the year to help subsidize some of the expense, but that alone will fall short of our total needs. These expenses include: registration, insurance, uniforms, training equipment, tournament fees, and team meals. |
