Welcome to the Midwest-based LAM Foundation fundraising website. Our goal is to raise awareness and fund research for LAM.

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis, better known as LAM, is a progressive lung disease that typically strikes women in the prime of their lives - most often during their childbearing years.

Over the last 12 years, The LAM Foundation has worked to bring hope to members of the LAM community, raising awareness among physicians and women, and acting as a resource for physicians and women with LAM.

The LAM Foundation is actively engaged in identifying potential targets and treatments for LAM.

The Midwest Friends of The LAM Foundation is hosting its First Annual Fall Silent Auction benefit, A Breath of Hope, on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Mars Gallery in the Chicago.

We have amassed a wonderful collection of silent and live auction items. To see our current list of generous donors, please click on the "A Breath of Hope Fall Silent Auction" fundraiser accessed by clicking "Search" at the top of this web page.

Tickets are on sale NOW! Tickets are limited and are available on a first come, first serve basis.

At a per person price of $80, tickets are available for purchase by registering via www.active.com or PayPal using the Buy Now button below. You may even purchase tickets without a PayPal account with your credit card by choosing the "Don't have a PayPal Account" option on the left-hand side of the initial PayPal screen.

Alternatively, you may send a check made payable to The LAM Foundation to Jim Schofield, 1349 W. George St., Chicago, IL, 60657. Please submit your email address, phone number, and all attendee names with your check.

Please note, you will be sent an e-receipt for your purchase within two days of your purchase date.

The Midwest Friends of The LAM Foundation partnered with Bloomingdale's for the 13th annual THE SHOPPING BENEFIT at Bloomingdale’s Wednesday, August 27, 2008.

Thanks to those who purchaed a $10 discount coupon for 15% to 20% off, with all proceeds directly benefiting The LAM Foundation. And just for stopping in at any Chicagoland Bloomingdale’s store the donation ticket on August 27, Bloomingdale’s will donate an additional $5 (one ticket per person accepted for the $5 donation).

Please join us at the 2nd Annual Hike for Lung Health on Sunday, September 21st at the Chicago Lakefront! The Hike for Lung Health is a family friendly fun event. You will have the choice to walk 1 or 3 miles. If you cannot walk with us at the park- do not worry- you can join our Virtual Walk! The proceeds of the Hike help support The LAM Foundation and other charity partners of the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago (RHAMC) in our efforts to fight LAM, asthma, lung cancer, COPD, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, ARDS, and other lung diseases, and to promote clean air.

You may register for the Hike for Lung Health by joining our existing team, Hiking for LAM. There is a $10 registration fee for each walker. Each participant will receive a Hike for Lung Health t-shirt, a participant goody bag and are encouraged to take advantage of the family fun fest activities. Lunch tickets are available for purchase online at a later date.
