| We want to raise Miles of Money.
In 2008, Sven, and I did the race in full fire gear. We raised $5,280.00. There are 5,280 feet in a mile, so that means we raised a Mile of Money!
In 2009, there were five fire fighters in full fire gear. We raised $26,400.00, which is Five Miles of Money!
In 2010, there were eleven fire fighters in full fire gear. We raised $13,200.00 which is 2 ½ Miles of Money.
On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, 2011 our goal for the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure is to raise $26,400.00 & to see 100 fire fighters doing the Race!
Hooray for Boobies, the name of our team, is derived from the apparel company 2 Beaches. Owners, Desiree Haakana & Penny Perrault produce the Hooray for Boobies t-shirts, and donate 25% of their sales to our cause.
Breast cancer survivor, Lisa Lutz, her husband Tom, and their children joined our team last year.
