This year an estimated 22,500 Canadians will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer and 9,100 will die from it.
In Manitoba, it is estimated that there will be 820 new cases and 350 deaths this year affecting men and women in equal numbers.
Overall, colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death in Canada. Yet this disease is largely preventable through early detection, comprehensive screening programs, following a healthy diet and exercise.
