Please help to continue to celebrate Jacob’s 11th birthday by helping to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer research. We also want to thank those that have graciously donated in honor of the passing of Tim Lumpkin.
Tim - you will be missed by many but we know that you are without pain and in heaven now. God bless your precious family and friends during this time. We love you!

Our lives changed forever on November 13, 2009. This is the day we got confirmation from Jacob’s oncologist that he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) - also known as Childhood Leukemia. As you can imagine, we were devasted by this news especially given everything else our precious angel Jacob has went through during his life. Jacob has had over 20 surgeries and 55+ procedures (over 8 spinal taps, GI, heart, ENT, eye, IV port for chemotherapy, etc), but it never stopped his energetic and loving spirit to succeed in life!
Jacob lost all his self help skills in November 2009 with the diagnoses of Leukemia and is just now starting to get all those skills back! Due to the hard work of many people on the “Jacob Team”, Jacob now is learning to walk again, toliet train and feed himself! Jacob has another three (3) years of chemotherapy including chemo pills every day, chemo via his IV port once a month and spinal taps every 3 months. To follow Jacob’s journey, please go here.
Words can not express what we have been going through but we must say that we are overwhelmed by the amount of love, support and prayers we have received the last year. Now it is our time to give back to make sure no other child will have to endure what Jacob has in the last year. We must find a cure for pediatric cancer and we need YOUR help. Please consider donating in honor of Jacob and the thousands of other kid’s diagnosed everyday!

Every day two classrooms of students, about 46 children, are diagnosed with cancer and most will spend the next three years in treatment. Pediatric cancer is different than adult cancer and is the number one disease killer of kids’ ages 0-20. Rally Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is dedicated to raising funds to support childhood cancer research which is under-funded up to $30 million a year. Please join JACOB with your donation and be a Champion for Childhood Cancer Research!
On Sunday, January 9, 2011 (Jacob’s actual birthday), we celebrated with a fundraiser at Monkey Joe’s in Roswell, GA. Even though it was starting to snow, over 300 people came out to celebrate this big event with Jacob. That night we raised over $ 7,400! As of February 10, 2011, our total for raising money in honor of Jacob is $ 11,667! Many thanks to everyone that supported this amazing event.
Please consider donating to this important cause. Let’s all work together so no child has to go through what Jacob has this last year of fighting cancer.
