Jordan Coffey was a 14-year old young man entering the 8th grade at Hollis Brookline Middle School when he lost his battle with cancer on September 10th, 2005. During April vacation in 2005, Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire granted Jordan’s wish to go to Walt Disney World in Orlando. It was a beautiful week of “Hakuna Matata” – no worries, lots of chicken fingers, French fries and ice cream. Whenever Jordan was paid a compliment, he often said, “Oh, it’s no big deal,” or “I’m nothing special.” He was very wrong—he was special in every way.
Jordan’s Walk for Wishes and Dash for Dreams holds this annual event in Jordan’s memory by honoring something he was unable to carry out – make other kids like him happy – realize they are not alone and give them a reason to SMILE! The money we raise benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire so that Jordan’s wish for others lives on. |
