| As a marathon runner, I have often been asked "Why do you run 26.2 miles?" Usually, the question is steeped in some morbid curiosity and a hint of "You are nuts, Scott!"
On October 2 2011, I will have a new and probably best answer ever to that question. I am running the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon to help a close friend and fellow runner, Jenny Crain. Moreover, I will be linked with 80+ other runners and if we all finish we will set a Guinness World Record for people to finish a marathon while linked by a rope. At the time, we had no idea how or if she would recover. After over three years of intense therapy I am happy to say that she is making great strides. She is now able to walk short distances and her cognitive abilities continue to amaze. Most importantly, she has been able to maintain her sense of humor.
Continued therapy is vital to her progress so I am asking for any donation that you can. In addition to any cash donations, we would sincerely appreciate prayers for Jenny as she climbs this mountain of recovery.
