Island Connections seeks to provide free services to the elderly and people with disabilities on Mount Desert Island and the surrounding off-shore islands that will enable them to live independently and with a strong quality of life. Island Connections recruits volunteers from all of the communities on Mount Desert Island to provide services on a one-on-one basis to those Island neighbors in need. These volunteers come from all walks of life and from all age groups. They are generous, caring people who have a genuine concern for helping others. Each volunteer is given orientation training before working with our neighbors.

Earn Guaranteed Marathon Entry:
Select the 'Register For This Event' link found at the top of this page and commit to raising $1,000 for one of the official local charitable organizations that are part of the Beyond the Finish Line program.

Support a Fundraiser:
Do you know someone participating in the MDI Marathon Beyond the Finish Line program? If you would like to support their personal fundraising efforts, select the 'Find A Fundraiser To Support' link found at the top of this page, and make a contribution on their behalf.

Become a Fundraiser:
If you are already signed up for the MDI Marathon, you can still become a fundraiser. Select the 'Become A Fundraiser' link found at the top of this page, and create your own personal fundraising page, then share the link to your page with your friends, family and co-workers and ask them to sponsor you.

Make a One Time Donation:
Want to make a one-time donation to one of our official Beyond the Finish Line partners? Enter the amount you wish to donate in the 'Make A Contribution' box below. Donations will go directly to the charitable organization(s) that you select.
