| Eppie's Ride for Insulindependence |
|
| Insulindependence is a worldwide project aimed at changing diabetic lives through adventure travel and educational outreach. Inspired by three core athletes’ unified vision to redefine “insulin dependency,” it operates through a global network of outdoor enthusiasts working together in an effort to promote healthy, proactive lifestyles to diabetics lacking financial resources, positive role models, and adequate guidance in professional healthcare. Insulindependence promotes its cause through its International Teen Expedition Program and by offering further support in various capacities, including public speaking, athletic events, and personal contacts. This year's Teen Expedition will engage Type-1 diabetics from across the globe in an exploration of the Upper Missouri River Valley of Montana. The noble mission of Insulindependence is to offer guidance where it is most desperately needed; to those who are just one adventure away from gaining control of their lives.
This year, the Epsilon Pi Alpha fraternity of Gustavus Adolphus College is riding in the Minnesota Ironman Bike Ride on April 29 to promote this cause and raise funds needed for expeditions and further educational outreach. Members of our fraternity will be competing in a 100 mile team relay. Thanks for your support!
