The 8th Annual Impact A Hero 5K Run/Walk/Wheel will be held Saturday June 2nd at Mercer Stadium in Sugar Land, TX at 7:30 a.m. The race will feature a 5K Competitive/Timed Run, 5K Non-Competitive Run, 5K Wheel and a 2 mile Walk. The 5K event has doubled in size over the last two years and it's very exciting to see. This year we are introducing a 2 mile Walk; by shortening the distance for the walkers we will be able to get to our post race celebration sooner. Those choosing to register for the 2 mile Walk will still register through the 5K Non-Competitive category.

Last year was another record breaking year as we exceeded our fundraising goal and increased our participation numbers once again. By raising over $350,000 last year we reached our cumulative total of more than $1,000,000 for our Heroes and their families!

The Heroes and their families face new challenges as they return home and have needs that Impact A Hero helps address through requests made by the Heroes. Grant requests are reviewed by a subcommittee of the Board of Directors and quickly approved or disapproved to get the grant to the Heroes as quickly as possible. Often the Board approves the request within 24 to 48 hours, getting much needed funds to the Heroes shortly thereafter.

The Houston Texans will once again be an active participant in the Impact A Hero 5K. In addition to Coach Gary Kubiak being the honorary race chairman, Texans players, Lady Texans, cheerleaders and Toro being in attendance, the Texans will be sponsoring the Kids Area! Click on the Kids Area navigation tab at the top for more details. All registered race participants receive access to the Texans tent for autographs!
