| This year, I am running the full marathon for the first time to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Huntsman in memory of my father, who was treated there for kidney cancer prior to succumbing to the disease last year. I'm really intimidated by this challenge but I know he'd be encouraging me to go for it. My dad underwent new treatments at Huntsman to help them better understand how to treat Stage 5 kidney cancer. He knew he might not benefit from the treatment, but the treatment results would help others who came after him. I feel like my run is a continuation of my dad's desire to help others who have cancer. And if I am going to ask people to donate on behalf of this cause, I need to do something that is very difficult for me personally. And trust me, this will be a challenge! Huntsman is constantly working to find new ways to treat cancer patients. They also provide a welcoming environment for the families of cancer patients. You don't realize what a gift that is until you spend a lot of time in a hospital. It means a lot to me to be able to do something that will help other patients and families at Huntsman.
