Sponsored by the Philadelphia Horticultural Society, the community-based City Harvest network raises naturally grown vegetables and distributes them to Philadelphians who lack access or the means to purchase fresh produce. City Harvest is a unique partnership between the Philadelphia Prison System; SHARE (a food distribution network); and the Health Promotion Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The Stroehmann Bakeries Walk & Run Against Hunger raises funds for more than 100 food pantries, soup kitchens and other hunger-relief organizations in Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey.
