| In 2006 I rode across the country with the Hopkins 4K for Cancer, a student-run organization that cycles from Baltimore to San Francisco raising funds, spreading awareness, and fostering hope for those who struggle with cancer. This year I will ride again as the trip’s Director.
Throughout the year riders volunteer at Baltimore’s Hope Lodge and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Hope Lodge provides free lodging for cancer patients while they receive treatment in the Baltimore area. SKCCC offers comprehensive care for patients, including research, treatment and recovery care. During the trip we give presentations about cancer and volunteer in community cancer centers.
I need your help as I make my way across the country. Each rider must raise at least $4,000 before the ride begins in May. The money will be donated to Hope Lodge and the SKCCC. If your company has a matching gift program, please contact your Human Resources Office to request a matching donation. You can also support me and those living with cancer by sending your prayers. |
