| Last Year's Trip to the Grand Canyon |
“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while care will drop off like autumn leaves."
-John Muir
As many of you know, this is my second year participating in Hike for Discovery with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year I raised $4100 for the society (with help from friends like you) and hiked at the Grand Canyon. This year, my goal is $5000, and I will be hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
Hiking has changed my life, and my hiking has changed the lives of others. The funds that my teammates and I raise will go towards research for cures to blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
Here are some ways that you can help:
1. Donate online. Right here, right now.
2. Have an old cell phone? Our group is collecting them to be refurbished as a fundraiser.
3. Craft it up! My crafty BFF and I are aiming to have a table at a few markets in April. Anything handmade that you'd like to donate is welcome.
4. Pray. For me, for my teammates, and especially for our family and friends battling cancer. We hope for cures soon!
