Climbing for a Cure
In January of 2007, my nephew Noah was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. He was six years old when he was originally diagnosed. In the past, this disease was almost universally fatal. Thanks to the hard work of organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Noah has a good chance of one day living a completely normal life and recent articles have suggested that, with the continued work of researchers funded by organizations like the LLS, one day 90% of people afflicted with this form of leukemia could be cured.
In June of this year, in Noah’s honor, I am going to climb the East Face of Long’s Peak (14,259 ft.) in the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies as part of the LLS’s Hike For Discovery program.
While I'm training, I'm raising funds to help the Society cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. More than 712,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. Your support of my participation in Hike For Discovery will help bring others, like Noah, hope and support.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Hike for Discovery and help advance the Society's mission. I hope you'll visit my web site often, so that you can see how my training and fundraising efforts are going. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
