Welcome to my Hike for Discovery home page.
Hike For Discovery is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's adventure fundraising program that prepares people to experience a natural wonder in a special way.
While I'm training, I'm raising funds to help the Society cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. More than 712,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. Your support of my participation in Hike For Discovery will help bring them hope and support.
This year, I am hiking in memory of fellow Hughes employee, Lisa Elder. Lisa passed away 2 years ago from Leukemia.
I am also walking in honor of a very special group of people:
My grandmother, Rosalie Ramsden, non-hodgkins lymphoma survivor.
My grandfather, Butch Cooke, non-hodgkins lymphoma survivor.
My step-father, Ken Reep, non-hodgkins lymphoma survivor.
and My co-worker, Peggy LeBlanc, who has multiple myeloma.
You can see pictures of my training hikes and the event itself at flickr.
