Hike For Discovery is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's adventure fundraising program that prepares people to experience a natural wonder in a special way.

While I'm training, I'm raising funds to help the Society cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

In addition to the more than 712,000 Americans battling these blood cancers, the research for these cancers is typically the frontline for cures for many other cancers. Your support of my participation in Hike For Discovery will help bring cancer patients of all kinds hope and support.

Your donation is so important, because it not only goes to funding research, but it also goes toward a program LLS recently started to help patients out financially, to offset the staggering medical bills not covered by insurance. I was able to help a business colleague (and friend) whose family was facing bankruptcy by connecting him with LLS--now they don't have to worry about losing their house, and can focus more on getting his wife through her cancer treatments and back to good health.

I lost my stepfather to prostate cancer and my stepbrother to melanoma (plus my mother survived ovarian cancer), and I have had others close to me struggle with many other cancers, as all of us have. This is my way of trying to honor them.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Hike for Discovery and help advance the Society's mission. My minimum goal is $4700, and I need just another few dollars. I'm nearly there! Every donation is important, even the $25 and $10 or other amounts add up! Our hike of the Panorama Trail took nearly 9 hours, so I put in a full day's work for your support--such a deal!
