Welcome to my Hike for Discovery home page.
The word cancer is quite a powerful one. A diagnosis of cancer, whatever the form, will change one's life forever.
In June I will hike the Rockies for a reason far more important than achieving a personal fitness challenge. I am hiking in honor of my brother, Robert Bauman. In 2007 he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He has been a true inspiration for me. Monday 5/5/08 Rob's final day of radiation.
As a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Hike for Discovery I have pledged to train and to raise money for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's and myeloma research and patient services.
You may not be aware of this, but 823,349 Americans have leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's or myeloma. Every five minutes, someone new is diagnosed with a blood cancer.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Hike for Discovery and help advance the Society's mission. I hope you'll visit my web site often, so that you can see how my training and fundraising efforts are going.
