What an amazing day we had in Houston, Texas! The inaugural Houston Hemophilia Walk was a huge success! We had over 800 enthusiastic walkers, who together with very generous national and local sponsors, raised over $183,000 to date, and still counting! Our website is still up and running, so if you still have donations coming in, it's not too late!
Melissa Compton, Walk Event Manager, Kim Martin, Walk Chair, and Debbie de la Riva would like to thank each and every one of you for your generosity. Every step and every dollar raised truly did make a difference for those dealing with bleeding disorders. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We'd also like to thank our numerous sponsors, and volunteers who gave of their time before and during the Walk, and helped us have such a successful Walk!
The Hemophilia Walk is NHF’s largest event dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for bleeding and clotting disorders, and to preventing the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy and research. Organized by the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), the Hemophilia Walk will make its debut in 2008 at five inaugural sites: Cleveland/Akron (OH) area; Houston (TX); New York City; Phoenix (AZ); and the Raleigh/Durham (NC) area.
Established in 1948, NHF is the premier organization in the U.S. serving the bleeding and clotting disorders community. Now in its 60th year, NHF continues to be a vital resource for prevention education and provides a network of support for Americans living with bleeding disorders and their families.
