Welcome to Hike For A Cure! When our son Anton was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) three months after his birth our world was in turmoil. Fortunately, he was able to win battle with this rare disease. We were grateful that he survived, and determined to make something good come out of our experience. With the support of our family and friends we made a commitment that we would put our hearts into raising money to fund the research that would lead us to a cure for histiocytosis.

This is our 11th Hike for a Cure. We have raised more than $1.4M towards this goal. Good progress has been made since Anton was in treatment, but there is much more to do. The time is right to accelerate the effort to find a cure by funneling significant funding directly to the doctors doing the kind of research that will get us there by 2020.

Every family fighting this disease knows the journey is long and hard. Our hike each year to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite reminds all of us of this challenge. It also helps us see that with the support of our families and friends we can accomplish the incredible – whether that is making it to the summit of Half Dome or going the distance in a battle against histiocytosis.
