| Help A Girl Today, DONATE! |
|
| Girls on the RunĀ® (GOTR) Vermont and Girls on TrackĀ® (GOT) Vermont are 10 to 12-week after school programs for 3rd through 8th grade girls, which use the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.
During our sessions, girls participate in an active curriculum designed to teach specific life lessons such as resisting peer pressure and making healthy decisions. Girls are empowered with a strong sense of identity; they learn to give and receive support from their peers, to stand up for themselves in a healthy manner, and to understand their importance in the community.
In addition to lessons, the girls train for a 5k (3.1 mile) race and complete a service project.
Over the past eleven years we have helped more than15,000 young girls discover they joy of physical fitness and learn to celebrate the qualities that make them unique. In 2011 we anticipate reaching 2,300 girls. Each girl participating in our program will be subsidized by $50.00 and approximately one half of these girls will require additional scholarships in order to participate. Your support at this time is particularly important.
As a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, our success depends on the generosity of others. We would like to thank you for your contribution. We can't make a difference without you! |
