Girls on the Run – Chicago is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to inspire girls to be joyful healthy and confident. Using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running, the innovative program combines training for a 5K event with interactive lessons that encourage positive social, emotional, mental and physical development. Over the past 12 years, Girls on the Run – Chicago has served more than 20,000 young girls across six Chicagoland counties. This year, nearly 2,000 volunteer coaches will mentor more than 7,000 girls, empowering them with the confidence and character they need to become strong, healthy women.
I have made a commitment to raise funds for Girls on the Run because I want to help ensure that every girl, regardless of financial ability, is able to participate in this life-changing program. Girls on the Run – Chicago has made a commitment to ensure that at least 50% of their participants are from Chicagoland’s most underserved, low-income communities. This year Girls on the Run – Chicago will award more than $500,000 in scholarships and subsidies, and next year they are hoping to award nearly $700,000. Thank you in advance for your generous support!
