| Please join me in the fight against Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), the most common type of leukemia under the age of 19. Children are most likely to develop the disease, but it can occur at any age, with about 3,930 new cases diagnosed each year in the United States.
Help us win this battle by supporting my campaign and donating to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 2007 Woman of the Year fundraising campaign. I have volunteered to “compete” in honor of Mateo Franco, a delightful nine year-old boy who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia when he was only seven.
The overall five-year survival rate for children with ALL is now 80%; in 1960 it was only 4%. Mateo’s life has been extended thanks in part to the research and chemotherapy treatments funded by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Today, Mateo is playing soccer and fighting hard to stay healthy – but he and the thousands of other victims of blood cancers urgently need your help to find a cure.
My goal is to raise $45,000.00 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s critical mission. For every dollar donated, over 77% goes directly to research and patient services. I hope you will support my campaign against this cancer with a suggested tax-deductible donation of $400.00 or more by April 15, 2007.
Your contribution will significantly affect the children, like Mateo, afflicted by this terrible disease. We need your help. Please click on a donation level below.
Almost all of us have had a family member or friend who has been struck by cancer. Our collective generosity will find a cure for blood cancer within our lifetimes.
My most sincere thanks for considering a gift of donation and support of this important campaign,
