The Council for Senior Citizens has just celebrated its 60th year serving older adults in Durham County. With seven senior centers, including the downtown Durham Center for Senior Life, the Council offers a wide array of programs and services for older adults.
Services include congregate meals, transportation, adult education, exercise classes, socialization, health promotion, caregiver support services, Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), information referrals, and case assistance. In addition, the Council operates the only Adult Day Health Center in Durham that provides a structured day program for older adults who may have some difficulty managing on their own because of frailty or the effects of disease.

How your donation will be used:
$25 provides arts and craft supplies for 40 seniors in a Adult Day Care for a week.
$60 provides a nutritious hot lunch for a senior for a month.
$150 supports 10 hours of in-home respite for full-time caregivers.
$250 provides case assistance for seniors.
$1,000 supports an exercise for 6 months for up to 50 seniors. |
