CASTLE is dedicated to providing quality auditory-oral early intervention and preschool services to children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families. CASTLE teaches, encourages, empowers, and supports the parents as the primary teachers of their young children, in order to promote healthy parent/caregiver bonding and to maximize the amount of time a child spends in a language-rich environment. At CASTLE, deaf children learn to listen and talk!

As part of our mission, we educate the whole child. An appreciation for music is a part of that education. Deaf and hard-of-hearing children can learn to appreciate music and even become musicians themselves.

Last year, your generous donations provided us with funds to improve our playground. We will be building a comfy foam track for our students and patients to ride their trikes and big-wheels on. This year, we ask for you help in beginning a music program. Hearing aids and cochlear implants provide a unique challenge where music is concerned. As you can imagine, children with hearing loss require a different approach than your typically hearing child.

*A donation of $15 will buy a small percussion instrument for a child.

* A donation of $25 buys a student a slide whistle to help them learn the concepts of pitch.

* A donation of $50 will buy one hand bell set for learning about scales and making music.

* A donation of $75 buys a gathering drum to help students learn about rhythm.

* A donation of $100 will provide a student with a complete set of tools to begin their musical experience.

*a donation of $500 will send a teacher to training to learn the most effective methods for teaching children with hearing loss about music.
